    Your new role whats involved

    You’ll be working alongside a whole host of talented people ranging from our early career professionals to established engineers and project managers working across the highways business to improve the local and strategic road networks.

    Working in partnership with National Highways and Local Authority clients across the region you could find yourself immersed in a diverse range of projects including active travel, digital design (including 3D modelling), strategic network improvements, major and minor maintenance, alignment, road safety as well as public realm. The role will offer an interesting and varied workload – from major strategic highways projects such as Smart Motorways through to a diverse range of small and medium local authority highways infrastructure improvement schemes.

    In this role you will:

    • Undertake design activities based within a multidisciplinary team which may include (but not limited to); site inspections, data analysis, feasibility and preliminary design, detailed design and site design support role.
    • Develop highway designs in accordance with the DMRB using software packages such as AutoCAD, OpenRoads and/or Civils 3D.
    • Provide support to Senior Engineers within the design team in planning, programming and cost estimation.
    • Support development of Graduate Engineers and Apprentices.

    Wed love to hear from you if you have

    • Relevant Engineering qualification and relevant post qualification experience within a Highways setting
    • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status. Member of an appropriate Institution.
    • Ability to work under minimum supervision, or as part of a larger delivery team, on complex projects in a CAD/BIM environment.
    • Experience of DMRB compliant highways design using OpenRoads, Civils 3D or similar.
