The role
As the Commercial Bid Manager, you will lead the contract acquisition processes and strengthen WVUK’s ability to acquire commercial contracts from institutional funders. This will encompass both leading and supporting other Portfolio Managers in all acquisition elements from the coordination of pre-positioning to submission and contract negotiation. You will provide active guidance and support to other WV staff undertaking commercial contract acquisition.
This role will programme manage acquisition bringing together programme design, financial and commercial inputs, and risk management. You will work closely with the Senior Contracts Manager, WVUK Legal Counsel and finance colleagues to identify risks inherent in bids, contracts and sub contractual agreements.
We are keen to find a candidate with the following qualities, experience, and education:
- A graduate with experience of submitting commercial contracts and experience working with and developing and/or managing consortium partners.
- You will be a highly organised person, able to manage expectations and prioritise competing demands.
- You will be proactive and tenacious in identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities,
- You will know what it means to be commercially minded and are financially astute and risk aware, with keen risk management skills, you have been proven to possess a thorough approach to risk mitigation and management.
- You will have experience of supplier relations and meeting their technical and financial requirements and a familiarity and confidence in navigating relevant procurement and financial legislation.
- You will have strong relational, interpersonal, and capacity building skills.
- Work collaboratively across several key stakeholders and their respective teams within WVUK and the wider WV Global Partnership (Field Offices, Regional Offices and World Vision International (WVI)).
- Effectively engage and manage relationships with external networks, including consortium partners.
- Assess WVUK’s capability and capacity to engage in selected opportunities.
- Support in the delivery of training developed by the Senior Contracts Manager.
- Other areas as outlined in the Job Description.
