    Are you a forward thinking and aspiring undergraduate ready to take your next steps in your career? Yunex Traffic is looking for aspiring undergraduates to join our Finance team on a 15-month internship contract as part of our Intern Development Programme.

    As our cities get bigger and more complex, Yunex Traffic makes mobility safer, more efficient, and more sustainable with forward-looking infrastructure and transport solutions. Yunex Traffic designs, markets, manufactures, installs, and maintains a wide portfolio of international traffic management products and is the UK market leader in the traffic signal business.

    This includes intersection and pedestrian traffic controllers, intelligent urban traffic control systems, variable message signs, public transport, and car park guidance systems to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow in congested urban and inter-urban areas.

    The challenge

    Part of being a #TrafficTransformer intern at Yunex Traffic means you’ll gain practical experience working on real projects in a leading, global intelligent traffic systems company. You’ll bring fresh perspective to what we do, helping us to achieve our goals. Here is a taste of what you can expect from this internship:

    • Use of Microsoft Applications (mainly excel) and SAP to deliver financial planning and performance data to the Business Senior Management and wider procurement and finance team. Support to key business teams including Credit Control, Sales Management, Operations etc.
    • Financial Planning and Performance Reports – SAP to Excel to Management
    • Budget, Forecast and Trend Reporting
    • Sales and Gross Margin Reporting
    • Project and overhead cost analysis Monthly Financial Control and Balance Sheet Reporting
    • Support with Financial Provision Calculations
    • Posting of Accounting Journals in SAP and support with month end close
    • Support Continual Improvement with use of systems and spreadsheet functionality

    The location of this apprenticeship role will be: Primary: Poole. Secondary Worcester and Glasgow

    The candidate

    We are looking for forward-thinking, inquisitive candidates who demonstrate the following characteristics

    • Working towards a 2:2 or higher in a finance related degree
    • Interest in finance and related activities with a drive to build experience in this area
    • Confidence to communicate and work with colleagues at all levels including Finance Managers, Commercial teams and the wider business
    • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
    • Ownership attitude for areas of responsibility
    • Good knowledge of Excel with an interest to advance skill in this area

    Minimum educational requirements

    • Working towards a 2:2 or higher in a finance related degree.

    Recruitment process

    Applications for our internships will close on 21st January 2024

    We will be holding in-person 'Getting to know Yu' days between mid February – early March 2024 which will allow candidates the best opportunity to showcase their potential and suitability for this role by using a variety of assessment types.

    This session will be held in an afternoon or morning slot and will typically include a combination of tasks and activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations, and role simulation exercises.

    For some roles, there will also be an initial video (Microsoft Teams) or telephone interview - these are likely to be held during February 2024, before the Getting to Know Yu day. These interviews are typically competency based and a chance for us to find out what your motivations are for your next career.

    Our 2024 interns will join the business in Summer 2024 so you must be available from this time, for up to 15 months (13 months at a minimum).

    Right to work

    Please note, if you are applying for an internship at Yunex Traffic, you must have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of up to 15 months. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to sponsor anyone joining us on our Internship Development Programme who doesn’t have valid right to work in the UK.
