The challenge
Part of being a #TrafficTransformer graduate at Yunex Traffic means you’ll take part in our fantastic graduate development programme, gaining practical experience working on real projects in a leading, global intelligent traffic systems company. You’ll bring fresh perspective to what we do, helping us to achieve our goals.
We will create an individual training plan to help you develop the specific skills and knowledge required for your role. By the end of it, you will be set up with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to equip you for your professional career in Yunex Traffic.
Here is a taste of what you can expect from this graduate programme role
- Writing embedded code (STM32) with some consideration of testability, readability, edge cases.
- Writing apps for Linux
- Work with CI/CD pipelines
- Opportunity to work with AI and learn about AI techniques.
- Opportunity to help develop some platform infrastructure (AWS) using techniques such as ‘infrastructure as Code’
The candidate
We are looking for forward-thinking, inquisitive candidates who demonstrate the following characteristics
- You are able to identify and correct basic errors and learn from mistakes, suggest improvements to own design
- You are able to gain context within team's domain with help from more senior engineers
- You show curiosity, willingness to learn from mistakes, acquire new knowledge and skills
- You show willingness to work in a team, challenging and contributing when prompted
Whilst not essential, it would be a bonus if you already have experience with
- C, C++ and working with embedded devices e.g. STM32
Minimum educational requirements
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or Maths

Recruitment process
Applications for our graduate roles will close on 21st January 2024.
We will be holding in-person 'Getting to know Yu' days between mid February – early March 2024 which will allow candidates the best opportunity to showcase their potential and suitability for this role by using a variety of assessment types. This session will be held in an afternoon or morning slot and will typically include a combination of tasks and activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations, and role simulation exercises.
For some roles, there will also be an initial video (Microsoft Teams) or telephone interview - these are likely to be held during February 2024, before the Getting to Know Yu day. These interviews are typically competency based and a chance for us to find out what your motivations are for your next career.
Our 2024 graduates will join the business on 9th September 2024 so you must be available from this time to work full-time (at least 3 days on site).
