    We are reinforcing our team by offering a 12 month student placement (£18,500 per year) at Blythe Valley Park, Solihull starting in September 2022.

    We are seeking a high calibre Electronics Engineering student to spend a year with a team of experts in the design and development of Electric Power Steering (EPS) control and power electronics.

    Your Tasks

    • Electronic Circuit Design: Creation of new electronic circuit designs, covering a wide range of digital and analogue technologies for safety critical automotive control systems.
    • Electronic Circuit Analysis: Tolerancing and Worst Case using various simulation and analysis tools (e.g. Mathcad and MATLAB/Simulink).
    • Safety and Reliability Analysis: Performing FMEA, FTA, reliability analysis in support of ISO 26262 work packages and analysis. 
    • Generation of Requirements and Test Documents: Generating documentation in support of ZF procedures and engineering design and development activities. 
    • Technology assessment: Researching and justifying the introduction of new and improved technologies into next generation EPS designs (e.g. sensors, microcontrollers, power modules and MOSFETs).

    Your Profile

    • Student in Electronic Engineering or related subject having successfully completed at least 2 years of their degree course before the start of the placement
    • Good understanding of electronic components with strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Willingness to push existing boundaries and learn/develop new skills
    • Flexible, self motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision
    • An interest and experience in Automotive electronics/systems design
