We are reinforcing our Software team by offering a 12 Month Student Placement (£18,500 per year) at Blythe Valley Park, Solihull starting in September 2023 or earlier.
This engaging placement offers the opportunity to be part of the Software team within the Steering department. Responsibilities include the development, test, validation and implementation of the application software found in our products. This Ensures the robustness, reliability and functionality of the operating system throughout the lifecycle of our solutions.
Your tasks:
- Partake in the development, test and documentation of software related activities for current projects carried out in the steering organisation
- Engage with the software lifecycle process of the product
- Understand and interpret results satisfying the requirements and methods in practice
- Support the various software teams in occasions of high demand
- Understand and comply with pre-existing standards to ensure there are no vulnerabilities within safety critical systems
Your profile:
- Student in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related subject, having successfully completed at least 2 years of their degree course before the start of the placement
- Proficient programming skills in C, experiences with UML based programming are a plus
- Competent use of productivity tools including MS Office
- Skilful people co-ordination and communication skills
- Prepared to adapt to new working environments, methodologies and tools
