As part of this role, you will be also contributing to the success of our IPZ offering and our Team’s Operations whilst being given the training and development to succeed as a D&O Underwriter. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Insurance, Specialities D&O Team, based in Mark Lane, London.

    What will you be doing?

    As the Junior D&O Underwriter, some of your responsibilities will include:

    • Undertake underwriting activities including but not limited to performing financial review of a company and understanding key risks and exposures that are relevant to our line of business under the supervision of an Underwriter.
    • Support our International Programme portfolio.
    • Support our Team’s Operational work with the aim to create efficiencies and best practices, utilising the resources available from our Operations Team to achieve this.
    • Evaluation of risks to determine acceptability to relevant guidelines.
    • Support delivery and enhance productivity of general underwriting operations.
    • Maintain agreed input to management reports and provide updates as required.
    • Processing policies, endorsements and liaise with Underwriting support teams.
    • Reducing rework & creating efficiencies where possible.
    • Promptly handle and positively resolve enquiries from brokers, customers, and colleagues.
    • Meet agreed performance measures: including high quality and timely data input to systems.
    • Achieve targets to maintain productivity, quality, and service standards.
    • Ensure that accurate records are maintained and the prompt production of quality documentation, in accordance with guidelines.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with brokers.

    • Some knowledge of London market practices and/or Directors’ and Officers’ exposures would be beneficial.
