We caught up with Mihaela to see how she found the Qube application process. She tells us about the assessment centre and her first impressions of the firm.
What drew you to the role?
What stood out about the role was that although software development was a key aspect of it, the position also required involvement in other aspects of the product lifecycle such as business analysis and consultancy.
What was the application process like?
The recruitment process consisted of two stages: in the assessment day I participated in a group exercise, where we were given a business scenario which consisted of collecting customer requirements as business analysts and then implementing a solution to cater for those requirements, this time taking on the role of the developer. The exercise was in the form of a fun game which gave us the opportunity to showcase our ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
In the afternoon of the assessment day there were various tests. The programming one was crucial although having a programmer background was not absolutely necessary as the questions tested the logic of candidates.
For the second stage, there was an individual interview with the Operations Director, and on completing that I received a job offer which I gladly accepted.
What was your first impression of Qube?
My first impression of Qube Global Software was that the company has a distinctive working atmosphere that is probably responsible for the fact that quite a few people have stayed with the company for many years.
Personally I am very pleased with the day to day collaboration with my colleagues and the sense of unity within our team.
Another positive aspect about working for Qube Global is that you're given the opportunity to choose your own career path within the organisation depending on how your skills and aspirations evolve. So, you're not stuck in the same role should you wish to pursue something else inside the company.
