Meet our society partners: Newcastle Raising and Giving Society and MathSoc
About Newcastle RAG
RAG, or the Raising and Giving Society, spearheads all charity fundraising undertaken by students at Newcastle University. We run multiple events throughout the year raising money for as many charities as possible, whilst also giving back to the community around the local area. Our fundraising events include one off events such as Take Me Out and Strictly Come Dancing, as well as larger volunteering opportunities such as climbing to Everest Base Camp! We also work closely with local organisations such as Keep Jesmond Clean helping to ensure a safe living environment for students and residents alike. Our main event of the year is RAG Week, our seven days of fundraising with an event every evening for our six chosen charities. By RAG Week 2020 we have over 500 members to our society and last year raised £103,000 for charity.

About Newcastle RAG
Mathsoc is Newcastle University’s Mathematics Society, operated fully by students! We are one of the largest societies the university has to offer, and you don’t have to study Maths to be a member! We aim to bring together all within the University who have a passion for maths, whether that be through studying a mathematics related degree or just a general interest – all are welcome!
