World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. About the role

We currently have an opportunity for an Associate Project Manager to join our team, providing pivotal support to the ongoing activities around research and development, with a focus on clinical studies, data management & statistics, new product introduction and design change projects. In this role, you will execute the management of small to medium sized cross-functional site projects from inception to delivery, including all stages of planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation. Taking responsibility for building project teams as applicable, you will oversee stakeholder engagement, communications planning, risk mapping, project schedules and timelines, and facilitate progression of project related activities. You will also maintain all relevant project documentation, including but not limited to project plans, schedule/work breakdown structures, meeting minutes, and reports, providing progress updates to teams as appropriate. Your interactions will be wide, and you will work with many teams across our business, including R&D, Statistics, and the wider Operations groups.

Main purpose of role

Leading and participating in management of development and departmental improvement projects through the effective use of Project Management methodologies and Project Management tools resulting in successful project outcomes.

Main responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing medium scale projects and deliverables within agreed constraints of time, cost, and quality.
  • Working with Clinical Affairs and R&D Project managers, to define plan and implement projects.
  • Developing good working relationships with internal functions, external suppliers, to facilitate achievement of project deliverables.
  • Capable of working independently and leading a small project team to successfully achieve project outcomes.
  • Chairing and leading project meetings. Coordination activities from development and identification of change through to implementation within Clinical Affairs.
  • Generation of change documentation in Agile and creation to support on-market change and new product introduction projects.
  • This position requires the ability to collect information from multiple sources, integrate and resolve often conflicting requirements and drive an organization through the various issues to result in successful project outcomes.
  • Must be able to adapt to changing requirements and meet project commitments.

To be successful, you will bring experience from a project based role and will have been a key part of a project team, with a good understanding and experience of applying project management methodologies. An advanced level education is required, along with strong skills in MS Office and experience with project planning tools.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who takes initiative and is able to work within a small team, but also interact on a wider business scale, leading and influencing where necessary. You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
