About the role

An exciting opportunity to work within the HR Business Partner team for Central Functions at ABP. We are looking to recruit a HR Associate who can demonstrate and seek to understand how HR makes valuable contributions to our business. Are you looking to develop your career within HR?

This is a fundamental role in fulfilling our vision for a sustainable and profitable future for the maritime sector.

Purpose

As an entry level role into the HR profession, it will be important to gain understanding of the business area, provide insights from people data and evidence, connect with members of the HR Function and managers within the relevant business area.

Accountabilities

  • Seek to understand the people plan within the Region / business function, supporting the HRBP team accordingly.
  • Coordinate HR activities as required such as workforce planning and learning needs.
  • Provide support to people managers, and coaching on people processes such as PDR, joiners, and leavers, particularly in the Port Business Services teams.
  • Apply HR policies and procedures as appropriate and with the support of the HRBP team provide mentor and guidance to line managers on employee relations cases such as sickness, disciplinary and grievances.
  • Support in note taking in disciplinary/grievance hearings as required.
  • Prepare highly confidential/critical documents/reports where necessary with accurate attention to detail.
  • Run reports and create KPI dashboards to support analysis of people data and trends for relevant business area.

About you

Graduate degree and CIPD qualified (level 5) or working towards qualification. A sound understanding of HR procedures/deliverables/legislation & policies, attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines. Able to remain confidential and be trusted with personal and sensitive data. Solid customer service, planning, organising and time management skills. Good people skills with hands on approach to achieve outstanding results. Excellent IT skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. To be able to communicate effectively (written & verbal). Highly curious and driven to try to understand the ABP business model through working closely with the HR Function and business areas.
