Better homebuying for everyone involved.

Acre is rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up, with a suite of digital products for the user at every part of the process.

Our platform cuts out the unnecessary admin, pain and friction from buying a home. We're covering the entire journey, from figuring out what you can borrow, to getting your keys. We're guided both by the voice of real home buyers and by our close relationships with brokers, lenders and insurers, through our exclusive broker distribution agreement representing over £40 billion in mortgage lending each year. We won’t stop until the process of buying, mortgaging, conveyancing, and insuring your home is affordable and completely seamless.

The role

We are looking for a graduate with a passion for frontend development who wants to be a part of a fast-growing startup that is transforming the way we buy homes.

Your role will be to work closely with the engineering team to help build out platform in a manner that is highly reliable, consistent and secure.

You will be highly motivated, be technology agnostic and be proud of the work you produce.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining our frontend team who are responsible for the design, implementation and testing of the user interfaces that empowers consumers, brokers and operational functions to efficiently manage the home buying process.

As part of your role, you'll get the chance to work with modern and reliable frameworks and languages. You will have the chance to deep dive into React to write our components, use Typescript to make sure we have strongly typed Javascript, and Apollo and Context for our state management. These will be your bread and butter, but sometimes you will also come across some RxJS and some Handlebars, but not to worry, the team are on hand to help you.

You will be expected to write reusable, tested and efficient code that is always production ready and to be responsible for the whole lifecycle of the components you build.

Who you will be

  • Passionate about software engineering and about delivering a quality product.
  • Have an understanding of automated testing platforms and unit tests.
  • Have an understanding of security and reliability concerns.
  • Experience of a range of languages, frameworks and patterns.
  • Be on track to getting a 2:1 or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or other scientific disciplines, or equivalent experience.

What we offer

  • Chance to make an impact within a fully funded, early-stage Fintech start-up in a unique position to make a difference to the mortgage market.
  • Competitive salary.
  • One week of free accommodation for those relocating.
  • Private healthcare, a cash plan, pension contribution.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Vibrant office in Central London with monthly social events.
  • See our careers page for more of what we offer.

We’re looking for people that will get stuck in and make a difference. We have a great collaborative, entrepreneurial team that are passionate about what they do. If you want to join a team that is changing people’s lives for the better, then we’d love to hear from you.
