As part of their mission to promote increased access and social mobility within the legal profession, Addleshaw Goddard is again offering several placements on its summer placement scheme to students from BPP Law School. The Legal Access Scheme has been successfully running for over 10 years. In that time Addleshaw Goddard has offered many placements to BPP candidates who meet the scheme criteria.

The main aims of the Addleshaw Goddard and BPP Law School Legal Access Scheme are:

  • To encourage and promote social mobility within the legal profession particularly in the practice area of commercial and corporate law.
  • To aid access to the legal profession for students from a less privileged or conventional background.
  • To assist students with no or limited contacts in the legal profession, to gain an understanding of careers within leading commercial law firms.
  • To provide students with a true insight into life in practice in a commercial law firm.

Selection Criteria

The scheme is open to current students at BPP Law School on the LLB (second and final year of standard programme or all years on accelerated programme), GDL or LPC programme.

Core Criteria

For a candidate to be eligible for the scheme they must meet ALL of the following core criteria:

  • Have achieved a 2:2 in their undergraduate degree and therefore do not meet the academic requirements for AG's standard Training Contract or Vacation schemes.
  • Be a current student/have been a student of BPP Law School within the last 12 months (on one of the programmes outlined above)

Secondary Criteria

In addition to the above core criteria candidates must also meet at least TWO of the following:

  • Attended a state school for the majority of their secondary schooling.
  • Were part of the first generation of their immediate family to attend university
  • During their time at university were in receipt of a private or governmentally funded scholarship, grant, award or bursary designed to help students who come from low-income families.

We are accepting applications from students who are looking to secure work experience in 2022.
