About us

The role will be based in the Secure Communications Programme Unit within the Connected Intelligence Programme Line.  Secure Comms deliver, operate and maintain many critical communication systems for our customers around the world. Whether it is supporting the deployment of British troops around the world or ensuring that the local fire service knows where to go to put out the fire, our customers rely on our robust, resilient and truly reliable communication services.

Join a diverse team supporting Secure Communications Procurement. The team is based over 4 sites in the UK plus France and Germany.  We are known for being adaptive in our approach supporting a customer centric Programme Unit.

The team support multiple National and International customer enabling them to have communication systems that they can rely on when everything else around them is failing.

What you will be doing

As a successful candidate, during your placement you will help develop in a project/bid facing role providing solutions for their external purchasing requirements.  By sourcing external goods / services you will be a critical part of the project / bid team ensuring a successful, On Quality, On Time and On Cost outcome.

Particular skills will be gained of working in a multifunctional team, work package management, supplier engagement and project reporting.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • You should be undertaking a Business or Engineering based degree with a desire to develop yourself in a high tech environment.
  • Have commercial Awareness
  • Ability to be able express yourself clearly verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to challenge established ways of working
