    We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Visualization Engineer to be a part of delivering world-class dashboards and data visualisation capabilities at Alliance Healthcare. Work with Data Engineers and Data Architects as part of a squad to deliver incredible visual products to different business areas around the organisation. Work with analysts within the business functions to identify key value streams.

    Key Responsibilities

    Translate business needs to technical solutions

    • Respond to business requirements and deliver data visualisations that answer agreed business questions
    • Work with solution architects to break down and estimate packages of work and contribute to design documents and review process
    • Manage the delivery and evolution of data visualisations
    • Work with 3rd party developers and other remote internal development teams to deliver robust solutions for data visualisations as agreed through intake process
    • Be the technical interface between data engineers, project management and the business in the delivery of projects and incremental change

    Manage a suite of data visualisations

    • Feed into the overall roadmap for data visualisation platforms taking into account Alliance Healthcare and the wider business strategy
    • Interface with the Alliance Healthcare architecture team and global CoE teams around platform strategy and wider governance standards
    • Understand the capability that our platforms could offer to feed into the roadmap and advise the business on how they can get the best out of their investment in these technologies

    Deliver the service for the business

    • Assure appropriate processes and metrics are in place to run the platforms and solutions as part of a business-as-usual service. This will require working with other teams across the business who may provide platforms and other elements of the service

    Visualisation Standards

    • Contribute and suggest additions and changes to standards for layout, style, coding, SQL and prototyping

    About You

    Essential

    • A university degree or equivalent IT experience
    • Proven hands-on experience with modern dashboarding platforms such as Power BI
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
    • You have strong HTML5 and CSS experience
    • You have extensive D3.js experience, along with its abstractions, or a comparable data visualisation library, and you can demonstrate this experience with a portfolio
    • You are comfortable with modern frontend frameworks like React or Vue
    • A good understanding of and experience of using Agile delivery methods and DevOps processes
    • Experience of working with globally-distributed, diverse teams
    • Strong customer experience focus and behavioural based design approach

    • Drive and know-how to design, code and deliver powerful visual experiences through data
    • You write clean, efficient and test-driven code
    • You have a talent and passion for visual design of products - you advocate for simplicity, can judge and remedy composition problems, and achieve satisfaction from pixel-perfection when it's demanded
    • You foster a collaborative atmosphere when you work and welcome constructive, well-delivered feedback from multiple stakeholders
    • You are comfortable using Git to collaborate with others and are familiar with CI/CD practices to develop and deliver software optimally
    • Keen to fail fast, you like to rapidly prototype and ideally would have encountered interface design tools like Adobe XD, Figma or Sketch in your career

    You can contribute to this new team by helping the business modernise digitising process and automation to departments across the business as we modernise the Application portfolio to align our M365 solutions with SAP which will be delivered in Phases over the next 2-3 years.
