Alpha FMC is seeking top graduate talent to join their Technology Consulting Solutions team. Applications are screened on a first come, first served basis so don’t hesitate to apply! The assessment centres/final stages will be held on a rolling basis until all positions have been filled.

What you’ll be doing

You can expect to be part of the team delivering a strategic transformation, a new technology implementation, or a critical extension to an existing platform. Our engagements vary in size and scale from a small team for a few weeks, to multi-year programmes, always bringing Alpha’s unique depth of strategic and implementation expertise to bear. You might be:

  • Helping to coordinate transformation projects for leading global asset and wealth management companies such as Morgan Stanley, HSBC and Barclays Wealth.
  • Collaborating with your team to deliver client projects of the highest quality.
  • Developing technological solutions to client problems and building your experience in the industry, supported by Alpha’s architectural experts across the asset and wealth management enterprise.
  • Contributing to the successful delivery of strategic initiatives, such as implementing new technologies or expanding existing platforms, with the aim of driving towards transformative change within the organization.

What we’re looking for

We are constantly looking for candidates who are hardworking and eager to make an impact and in a leading consultancy. 

  • Predicted or achieved a 2:1 or above from any university and in any discipline
  • Experience in programming in any language (e.g. Java, Python, JavaScript) and/or with data technologies such as HTML, CSS, SQL
  • Be highly ambitious, proactive and entrepreneurial with a ‘can do’ attitude 
  • Willingness to be part of a team which enjoys working hard and socialising together 
  • Passion for technology

Please note that we welcome individuals from all academic backgrounds, with or without prior internships or work experience. You also do not require to have experience with all the programming languages or data technologies listed above. 

What we can offer you

Training and development: You will begin the programme with a three-week training series which will get you up and running to start contributing on client projects. The initial welcome weeks will equip you with both a strong consulting toolkit focusing on areas such as time management, presentation and stakeholder management, and technical skills in a common industry platform used by many of our clients.

Support and community: We know that starting a graduate job can be daunting, so we help you settle in with a variety of onboarding activities and social events to meet the Alpha team in a more informal setting. You will also be provided with mentors, regular management one to one catch ups, and our buddy scheme. The buddy scheme helps all new starters settle in, so feel free to ask your assigned buddy about anything Alpha related!

Career growth: We offer continuous attention to your learning and development through a variety of qualifications, external and internal training. We encourage you to take on more responsibility when you believe you are ready, granting you control over your career growth with us.

Variety: With this programme, we want you to get as much exposure as possible to different parts of the firm. Our rotations vary in size and scale, from a small team for a few weeks, to multi-year platforms, with the aim of granting you with as much opportunity as possible to develop your skills and meet colleagues and clients from across the firm!

  • Stage 2: Blended assessment including a video interview
  • Stage 3: Coding challenge (this is not scored, but used to show your current level of technical ability)
  • Stage 4: Competency interview with Alpha FMC
  • Stage 5: Half-day assessment centre
  • Stage 6: Final round interview
