An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to advance their career and develop their skills, working as part of our commercial team in the Wales region responsible for delivery of portfolio of civil engineering and rail projects including both framework / contract agreements and tendered infrastructure projects.
Business Unit
A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the Wales region, whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term framework / contract agreements with key clients including but not limited to Capital Delivery Projects.
Existing contracts include CP6 infrastructure projects, Capital Delivery Projects and Buildings & Civils Asset Management frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels, footbridges, flood repair and alleviation to name just a few examples.
The Role
As a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the Commercial team and contributing to the profitable performance of the business unit, through the successful commercial and financial management of works, including day to day duties such as:
- Assisting the Quantity Surveyors / Senior Quantity Surveyors with the procurement function and the evaluation of Subcontractors, including subcontract management and payment
- Prepare interim valuations
- Prepare final accounts and change controls
- Prepare project reports
- Prepare project forecasts
- Assisting in the preparation of CVR’s
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (Degree)
- Experience as a Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a civils infrastructure contracting environment
