ADI’s Sustainable Energy Conversion Solutions (ECS) team has an opportunity for a graduate to join our expanding Design Evaluation team located at ADI’s Edinburgh Design Centre. The Design Evaluation engineer is a key member of the new product development team, from the initial design stage to final product release.

The ECS team is focused on providing innovative solutions for the fast-growing electric vehicle and energy markets, wherever power is converted DC/DC, AC/DC or DC/AC. The urgency to address the climate change challenge is changing the pace of innovation in these markets. The ECS team is developing the technologies and solutions to position ADI as leaders in this high growth area.

Responsibilities

  • Development of innovative hardware and software measurement solutions for a range of integrated circuit products. This involves both hardware design and software development.
  • Debug, evaluation, and characterization of physical silicon, including creation of characterization plans, data collection & analysis and generating/presenting technical reports.
  • Working closely with the global ECS Evaluation Team to ensure best practices, knowledge sharing and coordinated problem solving.

The ideal candidate should have

  • A strong technical background in mixed signal electronics.
  • Good initiative and motivation in a challenging environment.
  • Understanding of PCB schematic and layout tools such as Cadence Allegro.
  • Experience in software development and automation using LabVIEW and Python.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, etc.)
  • Strong teamwork, inter-personal and communication skills are essential.
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
