By joining our 12th cohort, our ‘Outstanding’ (OFSTED, 2022) Teacher Training programme helps you progress into an exceptional teacher, making a positive impact on young people’s lives. We have around 200 trainees on the programme this year and last summer saw our tenth cohort graduate. We are very proud we received our second ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted in all categories last year!
You’ll start the programme in September 2024 and can train in any of the below subjects to help pupils achieve excellent outcomes and learn howto teach outstanding lessons. You’ll be guided how to plan lessons, observe experts in the classroom and have your own coach and mentor to support you through the year long programme.

About Ark Teacher Training
Ark Teacher Training (ATT) is a school-based programme offering the perfect mixture of theory and classroom practice to develop you into the best teacher you can be. Trainees are based in school, so you are part of the community building fantastic relationships with the students from day one.

- Independent and team teaching

- Training once a week involving professional and subject-specific studies

- Time built in to work on PGCE assignments (two for the year)
- Bursary’s of up to £28,000, or our starting salary is from £21,106 to £26,471 depending on location and subject
At the end of your training year, you’ll have achieved a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status. You can then progress onto our highly supportive Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction programme. We will help you secure your ECT role at your training school or another in the Ark network and guide you through your first few years of teaching. It is very rare for our trainees to leave the network after their training year and many progress into leadership roles within Ark.
Eligibility criteria
- Grade C/4 or above in Maths GCSE and English Language GCSE (or equivalent) and science for primary
- An undergraduate bachelor’s degree or will hold (or equivalent) prior to beginning your Initial Teacher Training
- A degree or A level in the subject you wish to teach/or a related subject
- The right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
