We're looking for Geospatial Specialists to join our team of bright professionals. From your first day, you'll join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported and mentored in their career path and encouraged to work towards a professional qualification.

You will be joining a technical delivery team with a varied and potentially challenging workload. You may be working on wide variety of projects of global and national importance, such as HS2, Crossrail and other major infrastructure, strategic and master planning, research, environmental reviews.

Day to day tasks will include GIS development for data management, data manipulation and visualisation, and automation. You will have the opportunity to use 2D and 3D data developing your core GIS and specific developer skills like for example web or apps development and configuration.

You will have the opportunity to work with the full suite of ESRI's ArcGIS tools, FME, Open Source products and other key data management, manipulation and visualisation software. You will have the opportunity to develop your core GIS and supporting skills including web, server and development skills.

What are we looking for? 

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes

Essential

  • Bachelors in GIS or Remote Sensing OR; 
  • Masters degree in a relevant subject such as Geography, GIS, Earth Observation, Remote Sensing 
  • Good technical expertise and a sound understanding of data management, spatial analysis, scripting, web development and visualisation work 
  • Proven academic experience of utilising and deploying data solutions  
  • Awareness of one or more front-end languages (e.g. HTML / CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery) 
  • Awareness of one or more back-end languages (e.g. Java, Python, PHP) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js) 
  • Awareness of one or more Mapping libraries (e.g. leaflet, mapbox, geodjango frameworks, ArcGIS API's) 
  • Ability to manage own work, good communication skills, effectively translate technical language to the language of business, strong problem-solving skills, interest in working with clients 

Desirable

We would be looking for demonstration of skills matching at least some of those listed below, but not all.

  • Experience with SQL and non-SQL databases (PostgreSQL/SQL Server/MongoDB) and GIS servers (ArcGIS server/PostrgreSQL) 
  • Understanding and aptitude for using one or more of the following: ModelBuilder and/or ArcObjects, ArcPy/Python, SQL, HTML5, JavaScript, FME and ArcGIS Server 
  • Experience in integrating systems and building software customisations to make spatial and non-spatial data analysis more easily accessible 
  • Experience in the visualisation and analysis of complex and large data sets 
  • Aptitude for mentoring/training others 

You must be available to start this opportunity in September 2022.
