Program Outline
Your new career path with Aspen will begin in September.
We will provide you with a mix of training from both internal subject matter experts and external thought leaders, workshops to help you gain a broader knowledge at Aspen, access to online learning, rotations with different teams across the business, and support to undertake professional qualifications.
Additionally, we will provide you with financial support to study towards professional, post graduate qualifications in your chosen field.
Streams
Insurance/Reinsurance Underwriting Graduate Role
As an Underwriting Graduate you will have the opportunity to gain experience in some of the most specialist lines of business in Insurance or Reinsurance. Includes gaining understanding of different lines of business, build key relationships, and build your knowledge around the type of risks we write.
Eligibility
- Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- On track to receive 2:1 if in U.K. Will consider 2:2 for a right fit
Actuary Graduate Role
As a Graduate Actuary at Aspen, you’ll be using your strong mathematics aptitude and analytical skills to fully understand the numbers behind our business. By using the tools to assess our past and present business and management data, you’ll help us to quantify the risks and probabilities of future events, providing us with actionable information and a competitive advantage.
Eligibility
- We are looking for graduates who are highly numerate and are on track to achieve a 2:1 (U.K.)
- You will be studying towards or have completed an Actuarial Science or a mathematically related degree at bachelor’s level or higher
- In the U.K. you will have good GCSE and A/AS Level grades, ideally having studied a numerical subject such mathematics to A or AS Level and achieved a B grade or above
Risk Function Graduate
Aspen is an innovator in the management of complex risks on behalf of our clients. As a Risk Function Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work with different teams across our Risk function. This will give you the opportunity to gain an understanding of different lines of business, build key relationships and build your knowledge around the type of risks we write.
Eligibility
- Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or Higher in Liberal Arts
- Must be on track to receive a 2:1. Consideration for 2:2 degree with right fit candidate
Finance Graduate Role
In the first two years as a Finance Graduate, you’ll rotate into a variety of finance teams giving you a unique insight into the responsibilities and deliverables each team have.
In the third-year graduates will have the ability to choose the teams they rotate into with options within the broader finance department and areas related to finance. Each rotation will therefore expose you to a different range of skills, knowledge, and stakeholders around the company as you become a key contributor of deliverables for each team.

- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher preferably in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or similar field

Human Resources Graduate
As a Human Resources graduate, you will have the opportunity to gain experience within different functionalities of HR working with our subject matter experts in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Shared Services (HRIS, Payroll, etc.) Rewards and Benefits, and with our HRBPs.

Catastrophe Risk & Exposure Management Graduate
As a CRM graduate, you will learn catastrophe modeling, a risk management process to assess the potential losses caused by a catastrophic event. As an EM graduate, you will learn the practice of identifying and analyzing loss exposures and taking steps to minimize the financial impact of the risks they impose.
Graduate in this group function will potentially have the opportunity to move through 2 CRM teams, EM team, plus potential rotation in insurance / reinsurance underwriting teams.
Eligibility
- Must be eligible to work in the country you apply to. Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
- Preferably studying towards a degree in geography, climate change, seismology / earth sciences, meteorology, engineering, environmental sciences, economics, maths/ statistics
- Programming skills preferred

IT Analyst Graduate
The IT graduate program will comprise of a number of rotations of four or eight months, allowing the candidate to gain experience across the different teams within IT. These are:
- Architecture, Business & IT Change / Application Development, Infrastructure, Security, Financials / Portfolio Delivery / Vendor Management / PMO, and Service Delivery.
