    Aspen Graduate Scheme

    The Role

    To supporting end users in respect of issues or queries related to computer hardware or software - by responding to user enquiries, assessing problems/ issues and helping to resolve these where possible or escalating where necessary.

    Key Accountabilities

    Strategy and Planning

    • Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these include operational considerations for delivery.
    • Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.

    Policy, Process and Procedures

    • Undertakes a range of duties in order to provide effective support to the Service Desk.
    • Adheres to agreed processes and procedures to maintain compliance at all times.
    • Manages support requests, documenting issue severity and utilising standard procedures to resolve issues.
    • Supports specific activities to improve development of processes.
    • Positive feedback from stakeholders, including colleagues.
    • Minimal errors
    • Effective and compliant delivery with legal/regulatory standards, best practice and Aspen policies and procedures.
    • Internal reporting is accurate and timely.

    Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus

    • Provides a professional service upholding the reputation of the Service Desk and the wider IT function and the company.
    • Responds to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards and best practice.
    • Develops relationships with key stakeholders to influence and achieve business objectives.
    • Takes ownership of issues until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.
    • Works collaboratively with colleagues to deliver superior service standards as part of the extended service team.
    • Legal compliance.
    • Positive feedback from stakeholders/business.
    • Achievement of objectives.
    • Quality response service provided in accordance with SLAs.

    Technical Performance

    • Acts as the first point of contact with the client and during the incident-resolving-process, works with other experts, vendors, and specialists to solve the incidents for the customers.

    Skills Experience

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Certification in specific programs or systems, where required e.g. CompTIA A+; Apple Care, Microsoft Technology.
    • Broad awareness of Aspen and how own role/business unit/function links to company objectives.
    • Experience of working with technical systems.
    • Some practical experience of working with Windows, Linux and other systems.
    • Experience of working in a client service environment.
