If you’re in your penultimate year at university, or already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, from September 2022, this internship could be for you!

Our 10 week, paid, summer internship offers students the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Technology world. If successful after the internship, you will be given the opportunity to return as a Graduate in a permanent role in September 2023.

This is a brilliant learning opportunity in an environment where everyone is welcome to share ideas, ask questions and seek out advice.

About the Aviva Technology Internship

We have a real variety of roles across our technology team, in various locations.  As long as you’re curious and passionate about technology, then we can teach you the rest - which is why you don’t need to have studied IT at university to join us in one of our Technology Internships. Our current graduates have studied everything from Town Planning to Maths, from Computer Science to History, and they’re all equally brilliant.

You will be aligned to a team and enabled to work with colleagues on live projects that will have a real business impact. Our internship roles fall into three main categories, and you will be able to preference which you are most interested in on the application form:

  1. Change Management (Norwich / York / London / Bristol) – think Project Management / Business Analysis - these roles are suited to people who are naturally curious – big picture thinkers who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo. If you enjoy organising, whether that’s information or people, and you like to influence thinking and the way things are done, this route could be a good match for you.
  2. Software Engineering (York / Norwich) – You will work collaboratively in small teams to build high-quality solutions that meet our customers and colleagues needs. You will get to build upon your existing knowledge of coding by working on real life projects with the support of our experts.
  3. Cyber Security – (Bristol / Norwich) - Cyber security is a crucial and high-profile activity at Aviva. During your internship you would be working with the teams who helps protect Aviva data, colleagues and customers from cyber-attacks and website fraud. You will be someone who has a genuine interest in Cyber Security and who loves to use their analysis skills to make decisions.

During the internship you will

  • Deepen your knowledge and understanding of the technology and insurance industries by working on projects of value
  • Learn from experienced technology professionals who will be on hand to support and encourage you every step of the way
  • Participate in sessions that will help you to build business and personal skills that will be useful in your future career (hopefully with us!)
  • Grow your network within Aviva
