What if you could work on something that you cannot test, but cannot afford to fail? What if your job wasn’t your ordinary 9-5? What if you could work with remarkable people on extraordinary things? What if the end result was something a little bit special? What if your role was mission critical?

For nearly 70 years, AWE has been at the forefront of nuclear research weapons research and development. Contracted to the MOD, we have a critical mission: to provide the warheads for the UK’s ultimate deterrent – Trident. We also use our unique nuclear skills to provide wider UK government with counter-terrorism and nuclear threat reduction solutions.

It takes a special sort of person to work at AWE. What if that person was you?

The role:

AWE’s Programme & Project Management function works alongside all areas of the business to ensure projects are management and completed to agreed deadlines. You will gain knowledge and experience on the application of core project management principles on a wide variety of projects and will be able to make a direct and visible contribution to the successful running of our business.

The work undertaken by a graduate within Project Management will depend on the projects available. However, previous graduates have been able to get involved in low complexity tasks/work packages within a formal project environment to contribute towards successful completion of projects, under the control of a project manager or senior project manager, compliant with AWE processes.

Interested candidates will be expected to be studying a Project Management module as part of their degree and in return the AWE Graduate Scheme will offer you structured learning ensuring you will experience everything you need to make the most of your personal and career development.

We recruit on a rolling basis which means as soon as our positions have been filled, we close our applications.

Successful candidates must be available to start on the Graduate Programme in September 2021.

What we offer:

AWE offer a competitive salary, market leading contributory pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, excellent work/life balance including a 9-day working fortnight and flexible working hours (role dependent).  A salary sacrifice benefits scheme is also available. As a Graduate with AWE you will also receive a welcome payment, option of an interest free loan of £1,000 as well as regular Graduate pay reviews and a structured and supported career progression

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas – if applicable
