What is the PEG Technology Team
The Private Equity Group (PEG) practice supports our clients across the investment life cycle from deal generation and due diligence to portfolio value creation and exit planning. Our global practice is three times larger than any competitor and in the past decade we have advised on over half of all large buyout transactions worldwide.
The PEG Technology team extends the PEG practice’s capabilities to act as technical advisors in investment processes with a focus on software and tech enabled businesses. It is a rapidly growing global team, and as we scale the initial focus will be on conducting product and technology due diligence engagements and value creation assignments.

What the Role involves
You will get deep exposure and access to the leading software and tech enabled companies globally, typically 10-20 companies each year. These companies span enterprise applications, vertical applications (HealthTech, FinTech, EdTech), infrastructure software, cloud software, and tech enabled services (IT services, e-Commerce, AdTech). On assignments, you will work closely with our global experts comprising former CTOs and CPOs of leading global technology and software companies, leading private equity investor clients, and our commercial diligence teams.
This is a particularly exciting time to join the team – we have ambitious growth plans and you will be contributing to building and scaling a new global capability within Bain & Company.
What you will do
- Perform primary and secondary research: collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data across a variety of sources to test or further our understanding of the business or market.
- Product strategy and roadmap assessments: contribute to the assessment of product positioning and roadmap completeness and viability.
- Technology strategy and roadmap assessments: contribute to the assessment of architectures (current and future), technical debt, and related areas such as hosting and security.
- Develop and communicate insights and recommendations to the project team, technology leaders, and PE investors.
Who we are looking for

- Undergraduate/Master’s degree from a top tier university in a relevant field (i.e., computer science, data science, statistics, information systems, engineering, business management).
