    Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an Graduate Application Developer to join our Enabling Functions team to work in Sheffield.

    What youll be doing

    Balfour Beatty is a multi-billion pound infrastructure company in the midst of a digital transformation. With data from the UKs largest construction contractor to play with, our developer, data engineering, analysis and science teams are leading an industry shift from paper and pens to data-driven digital processes and decision making.

    Application development, process automation and system integration are in your blood, so you'll be at home designing innovative solutions to deliver our digital vision. Youre capable of quickly understanding disparate applications and data sets from systems such enterprise scale Oracle installations, Autodesk applications, planning and financial systems, drone photogrammetry, LiDAR point clouds, IoT sensor networks and live streaming telematics.

    Your core skills will be the ability to adapt and learn quickly. Your agile mentality and technical acuity will be far more valuable to us than a deep specialism in X, Y or Z application or process.

    Who were looking for

    You will have the following qualities and experience:

    • C# / .NET Core / Xamarin
    • Python, Java, Go, PowerShell, Node.js, or Ruby
    • AWS, GCP or Azure data infrastructures
    • ETL/ELT tools
    • SSIS, BizTalk, Matillion, Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator, or others
    • A real-world understanding of MSSQL, PL/SQL or others
    • Database design
    • REST API design
    • Containerisation, Micro Services
    • Microsoft Power BI
