At HS2 we offer a two-year rotational graduate programme, providing you with the opportunity to stretch and challenge yourself across various programme related placements. This programme is designed around enabling you to get as much experience as possible across different teams within a particular business area.

    What you'll do

The successful graduate placement will be aligned to the IT Portfolio to support the delivery of projects throughout the project lifecycle from Triage, ideation and through to design, implementation, and service transition. The role would be supporting Delivery Managers, Project Managers and Programme Managers to deliver IT Programmes and Projects to the business.

As part of their role the placement would have rotations within other functions falling under the IT Portfolio which are key for successful project delivery; Business Engagement & Demand Management, Project Delivery, Business Analysis, Supplier Management, and IT PMO (IT Portfolio Governance & Support). This will provide the graduate with broad exposure and experience of IT Portfolio management.

During the 2-year placement there may also be rotations to IT Products & IT Platforms to understand how products are further enhanced post project closure and how products are transitioned into live service and supported as “Business as usual”.

Does HS2 offer sponsorship if I do not have the Right to Work in the UK?

To be eligible to apply to the HS2 Graduate scheme for our September 2022 in-take, any applicant will need to already have the unrestricted Right to Work in the UK (i.e. not requiring sponsorship). HS2 are not in a position to sponsor any applications as we do not hold the required sponsorship licence from the UK Home Office.  Please note, we cannot accept applications from anyone holding the recently introduced Post Study Work visa. We appreciate the Right to Work question can be complex to understand, particularly with recent changes around Brexit, if you are unsure of your Right to Work status, please email us at HS2Jobs@hs2.org.uk  and we will be happy to advise further.  Please note, your Right to Work status will be validated early in the process for HS2 to comply with UK Home Office policy.

    Timelines for the campaign?

The Applications window closes on 17th January 2022.  Once you submit your application, the first assessment (2x on-line tests - Intellect Test and a Values Fit Assessment) will be sent you in early January. The subsequent selection process will include a mixture of video interviews taking place throughout February and March. As it currently stands there are no face-to-face assessments planned due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. Post interview, we will work as quickly as possible to issue offers to successful candidates first. For non-successful applicants, the outcome of your application will be available no later than April/May. The start date of the HS2 Graduate Programme is September 2022.
