About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
Role purpose
You will be responsible for assisting the cable management team, processing data within the cable management database, to allow the cable installation team to progress accurately and efficiently.
What you'll be doing
As a Technical Administrator in the Cable Management Team, you will have the following accountabilities:
- Process the cable routing data from the Principal Designer (within project data base).
- Maintain the master cable list (within project data base).
- Feedback non-conformances/errors to the Principal Designer.
- Management of termination details (within project data base)
- Initial drum management (within project data base)
- Cable Management reporting activities
- Project Support for cable routing links to auxiliary buildings (outside data base network)
- Site support/queries and updating the cable lists.
- Regular reporting on cable data upload and processing
Who we're looking for
You will have the following qualities and experience:
- Further Education academic qualification (min. HNC, preferably an engineering discipline, but not essential).
- Experience in a similar environment would be beneficial.
- Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
