Position Overview

We are looking for an undergraduate student to join the Graphic Design Team at the South Shields Head office on a 12-month student placement. The Student Placement Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing, developing and managing production of a series of assets for the Global Marketing departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production of Global retail / partner store window artwork and POS
  • Support design & production of wholesale in store and online artwork
  • Design and production of seasonal POS
  • Design and Production of VM Guides / Style Guides / Brand Guidelines
  • Design & manage production of global sales tools on a seasonal basis in line with sales team needs
  • Support production of event and showroom artwork / print needs
  • Support the production of digital marketing materials
  • Undertake any other reasonable activity, as may be required by senior management.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of full Adobe creative suite, including Photoshop and Indesign
  • Microsoft Office – word / excel / powerpoint
  • Must be creative & have imagination
  • Be adaptable and able to pick up new techniques
  • Keep up to date with advances in computer technology and how this affects the brand
  • Demonstrate high standards of attention to detail, be thorough and precise
  • Be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Able to establish relationships with people at all levels. Proven experience working with a team.
  • Proactive planning / time management skills to enable effective prioritization of workload
  • Able to use own initiative
  • Continually look for improvement and be committed to achieving the highest standards in all activities
  • Able to work well under pressure, remain calm and demonstrate this style to others

Additional information:

  • To apply for this placement, you must be currently studying an Undergraduate Sandwich Degree Course and able to undertake 12 months in industry as part of your course.
