BASF plc is a subsidiary of BASF SE, marketing a wide range of BASF products in the UK. These include agricultural solutions, automotive refinish paints, acrylic monomers, fine chemicals, intermediate chemicals, speciality chemicals, dispersions, and plastics. The sales centre for BASF plc and the business service functions for all BASF Group companies operating in the UK, are located in Stockport, Greater Manchester, the headquarters of the BASF Group in the UK. BASF plc is an agent for BTC Europe GmbH, our pan-European in-house distributor, focused on speciality chemicals and performance polymers. As well at the headquarters in Stockport, BASF plc has sites in Alfreton, Bradford, Widnes and Bury St Edmunds.

Responsibilities

During your twelve-month industrial placement position at our UK & Ireland headquarters, located near Manchester, you will use your analytical and investigative skills to identify business opportunities across our broad portfolio.

This placement will give you the opportunity to expand your understanding of the business through involvement in projects with colleagues from different industry sectors. You will develop personal and professional skills that are transferable into any business environment.

This is a diverse and interesting role that includes:

  • Undertaking market intelligence on customers and industries.
  • Developing market analysis.
  • Regular reporting on business and economic activity.
  • Short and long term consultancy based projects, providing the businesses with actionable information to generate further growth.

Qualifications

You are

  • On target for a 1.1 or 2.1.
  • Studying for a degree in Management or Business Studies.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication and work management skills.
  • Inquisitive, with an aptitude for analysis and problem solving.
  • Targeted start date would be Summer 2024.
