Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a part-time Research Assistant within the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development. This esteemed Centre is at the forefront of research in brain and psychological development, making it an ideal place for individuals passionate about neurodevelopmental conditions.

About the role

As Research Assistant, you will have a key role in organising and running a unique project investigating the effects of physical activity on high-level cognition in children with ADHD in a virtual-reality environment. In collaboration with Dr Ori Ossmy, and additional project staff, you will play a central role in organising, managing and supporting data collections.

To succeed in this role you will need excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communications, and attention to detail. You should have a BSc or MSc degree in Psychology or related subject and experience of conducting developmental experimental psychology studies. Experience working with children with ADHD and/or substantial experience using the other methods with developmental populations is desirable.

This position will give you the opportunity to engage in continuous professional development by improving or developing experimental skills in a wide range of experimental methods, including behaviour, eye-tracking, motion-tracking, neuroimaging, and virtual reality, in school-aged children. You will also get experience in managing and organising research projects and contributing to developmental psychology research.

You will be working as part of the world-first ToddlerLab team at the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, (CBCD), School of Psychological Sciences.

Remuneration

£18,571 rising to £21,182, pro rata, per annum, (£37,143 - £42,365 FTE). The salary, Grade 6, quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale.
