The role will support two functions within the organisation:

System Integration Exterior team

  • You will assist in identifying problems during the assembly of Pre-Series vehicles and Series vehicles, conducting initial analysis into these problems, supporting the development of technical solutions whilst finally validating the effectiveness of these solutions virtually and with hardware.
  • Be involved in live product builds, get hands-on in our technical workshops and be expected to master the basics of CATIA V5 to perform detailed virtual analysis of CAD packages.
  • Support the team through a variety of interesting and technically challenging projects and some administrative support.

The System Integration Interior department

  • Responsible for the geometric and functional integration of the interior during the development phase up until 3 months after SOP. Our metrology specialists support complex analysis topics across the wider team with their extensive measurement capabilities.
  • Responsible for tolerance management in the plant. We have a current innovation project to develop Virtual Reality as a tool to support engineering analysis within the Quality division.
  • Develop our VR system for use in Quality analysis problems. Involvement in current and future production topics.
  • Development new functionality in the VR software. Grow the use of VR across plant Oxford.
  • Training of new users. Contribute to the development of VR across BMW network.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Be working towards a 2:2 or above in a relevant degree ideally with significant Business and Engineering content
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good communications skills
  • Mechanical engineering experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • CAD knowledge would be useful
