IglooBooks (part of Bonnier Books UK) is searching for a dynamic, organised and creative junior editor to join its publishing team, based in Sywell in Northamptonshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a wide range of titles across our award-winning licensed product list. Working on brands such as Disney, Marvel, RSPCA and more, the successful candidate will deliver innovative and exciting products on time and to a high standard. essential part of a friendly and collaborative team.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Project-manage books in partnership with a publishing partner, making sure key milestones are kept to and final files are supplied on time
- Work to branding guidelines and ensure all relevant contractual obligations are met
- Research, write, copy-edit, proofread and sign-off on a wide range of books across a range of formats and novelties, to make the best product possible
- Make sure all files are editorially accurate, and created in line with the required quality level during all stages, including final files, plotters and advances
- Make sure all Igloo books are produced to house style and fulfil the in-house brief
- Liaise and help to coordinate third-party contributors, including packagers, illustrators, authors, licensors and other freelance agents that are needed to create a project
- Problem-solve and, if required, escalate issues in the correct manner and in good time to allow schedules to be hit
- Support members of the team and make sure departmental goals are achieved
- Ensure that all proposed titles meet the business needs and goals of the company, and ultimately help to deliver a profitable programme
- Liaise with Production department to ensure products delivered are of the highest quality
- Stay up to date on current trends and gaps in the market
Qualifications and Experience

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and support

- Strong problem-solving skills
- Copy-editing and proofreading skills
