Our volunteers are vital to our charity as they deliver fun, engaging and impactful reading sessions with children on our programme. Bookmark’s Application Support Executive (previously Programme Support), plays an important role in recruiting our volunteers, making sure that they each undergo a rigorous vetting and interview process to help us build an incredible, diverse volunteer community.

The salary for this role is £22,800, with pay to be reviewed on 01/09/2022. This role will be based in our London office 2 days a week, with some flexibility offered. The deadline to apply is midnight on 15/08/2022. Online interviews will be scheduled as applications are reviewed.

Job Description

  • Manage volunteers through their application journey
  • Provide a high level of support and advice to volunteers as required
  • Review application forms and conduct volunteer interviews
  • Follow safer recruitment practices, including processing DBS checks, obtaining references, completing risk assessments and supporting with overseas checks
  • Communicate with volunteers by email, phone and online
  • Input and maintain accurate and up-to-date volunteer records on our systems, including Salesforce CRM and SharePoint
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve the applicant experience
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and meet monthly team and individual targets
  • Participate in the continual improvement of knowledge capture and management
  • Provide administrative support across the organisation, as required
  • Ensure that all activity helps to build Bookmark’s brand and is always brand compliant
  • Support the rest of the charity, to help meet our strategic aims

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Salesforce and / or SharePoint experience desirable
