Job description

An exciting opportunity to start a journey into professional sales management with an industry leading company.

The Business Development Graduate will oversee and support the development or all sales functions, which will include project, operations, and sales growth. The role will interact and engage with internal stakeholders to ensure business continuity, such as finance, product management, production, and marketing.

The key responsibility of the role is to manage and promote sales of Residential and Commercial products, including Boilers, HIU and Heat pump to merchants and installers. Initially the role will consist of:

  • Year One – Develop relationships with both internal and external sale functions, providing support project/team coordination. The aim will be to deliver a world class sales service, while executing business sales strategy. There will also be extensive contact with senior managers to help and guide the individual in the role, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Year Two – The support delivered in year one will continue, however the role will develop further. The individual will have a clear grasp of where their skillsets work best, allowing them to understand and define career path.

Key deliverables

  • Provide market insights and monitor competitor activity in resp. sectors; feedback to management/SBO to shape our respective approaches.
  • Champion change within our business, securing commitment from all departments to improve our market offering and a meaningful extension of our business.
  • PMO - Accountable for implementation of new and improved business process, across all sales sectors.
  • Provide market insights and monitor competitor activity in resp. sectors; feedback to management /SBO to shape our respective approaches.
  • Support & coordinate Market Launch Activities.
  • Support business workshop activities.
  • Responsible for all aspects of sales project management, from order entry to delivery.
  • Develop and support sales reporting channels.

Qualifications

Person specification

  • Degree in relevant field, ideally Business, Marketing, Economics and Engineering
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written.
  • An ability to engage in technical conversation explaining complex elements in simple terms.
  • Able to listen to and understand customer needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think laterally.
  • Analytical with an ability to draw inference from data.
  • Confident and convincing in presenting to an individual or group.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Flexible and able to manage your own workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a continuous improvement mind-set.

Additional information

They will be expected to work with the businesses CRM system or equivalent for quotation process, all call activities with our customers and detailed project tracking and analysis in line the business reporting requirements.

Full training on sales techniques, distribution channels and commercial heating products and systems will be given.

  • Expected Start Date: July 2024
  • Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Mon – Thurs 08.00 - 17.00 and Fri 08.00 - 16.00 with a 1-hour unpaid lunchbreak
  • Location: Worcester + travel for business when required
