You would be working within the Purchasing Department of our business at St Neots. This will give you the chance to gain experience and build up knowledge whilst taking responsibility for departmental tasks within all areas of Purchasing.

Job description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Support the purchasing team on strategic topics and daily business requirements
  • Update and maintain data in SAP system
  • Process request for quotations, negotiating pricing and making sourcing decisions
  • Vendor performance analysis to implement and monitor improvement measures
  • Interface between suppliers and the Purchasing department to ensure necessary documents and agreements are in place to meet required standards / procedures
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders (other departments and suppliers) to achieve project goals
  • A specific project which will bring continuous improvement to the department

Your profile

  • Studying for a degree in a business discipline
  • Computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft packages including word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook
  • Good attention to detail, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Analytical and flexible approach to work
  • Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
  • Able to use own initiative with the ability to work on own as well as part of a team
  • Effective organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate confidently
