The opportunity

Cambridge Associates’ Credit Investment Group (CIG) is responsible for all fixed income and credit-related investment strategies on a global basis. This spans public, hedge fund and private fund formats and includes asset classes such as investment-grade, leverage loan and high-yield bond funds; credit and distressed hedge funds; and direct lending, mezzanine, distressed and other specialty credit strategies executed through private funds. In addition to identifying compelling manager, fund and market investment opportunities, the CIG also works directly with other Investment Directors and clients in constructing, implementing, and managing credit portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • The Investment Analyst (IA) role is in the C|A Credit Research group working on Private Credit. The IA will participate in the manager assessment process, including writing summaries/comments of each meeting for distribution within the firm.
  • Work closely alongside one Senior Research Director helping them manage current ideas and look for new ideas. Work with them to complete in-depth written due diligence on current Private Credit opportunities. Responsibilities include: attendance at manager meetings/calls, due diligence planning, writing meeting notes, evaluation of the team, strategy, and performance, analysis of relevant positives and issues, asking questions of managers, participating in all meetings. Some travel.
  • The role is part of the wider global Credit Research group giving opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in other geographies to complete the research agenda.
  • Serve as a resource to colleagues seeking current information on mainly Private Credit opportunities, including data and analysis, comparison to other managers, and the opinion of the research team.
  • The successful candidate will be collaborative, responsible, curious, creative, and enjoy learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (any subject) with a record of achievement.
  • Some of relevant financial services work or internship experience preferred.
  • Strong, demonstrated interest in, and comfort, with investments
  • Demonstrated strong written communication and business writing skills.
  • Ability and willingness to engage in conversation with managers. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Someone that has demonstrated creativity and can come up with new ideas.
  • A self-starter who takes the initiative.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint Skills
