How we'll support you

Part of this programme is about giving you exposure to the work we carry out day-in and day-out. But we also want to give you the support and guidance you’ll need to embark on a career with us. So over nine months you will have a trainee buddy and associate mentor. They’ll be on hand across the 9 months to answer any questions you have and provide ongoing mentoring. You’ll also be invited back to the firm over the year to further develop your skills and attend career development workshops and networking events. The aim is to put you in the best position possible when it comes to applying for vacation schemes the following year.

Ismail Usman - Future Trainee Solicitor

"The Bright Futures programme is an insight into inspiration and motivation. It opened my eyes to a wonderful world of talented, kind and intellectual lawyers, all of whom showed me the endless possibilities of my own potential. What began as a mysterious and daunting step into an opaque legal world; ended with a smile made of wonderful memories, new friendships and a newfound ambition built on inspiration."

Emma Barden - Future Trainee Solicitor

"I partook in the Bright Futures Programme in 2017, from which I have had continual guidance and support, leading up to my training contract which is due to commence in 2021. Bright Futures was my first insight into the world of commercial law, and the programme successfully combined both ‘vac scheme style’ work experience in set departments, alongside leading specific sessions which taught us about things such as life at Clyde & Co, and key tips in how to become a successful lawyer. I was lucky enough to also attend the Court of Justice and the Royal Chambers with my department! After the scheme we were invited to numerous re-engagement days over the next year, alongside being partnered with trainee buddies, which was fantastic to have the professional support and guidance throughout university. I couldn’t recommend the scheme more to all students!"
