About the Role
Cognism is looking for a talented SEO Editor and Writer to join its content marketing team. Suitable candidates will have a strong background in search engine optimisation and experience of working in the B2B/SaaS industry.
Applicants must demonstrate a sound understanding of SEO best practices and be able to apply those principles in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, thrive under pressure and have a passion for growing new audiences and driving traffic to the Cognism brand.
Key responsibilities:
- Make recommendations on SEO best practices and optimise existing blogs.
- Review, modify and update content, with the aim of improving visibility and rankings.
- Analyse content created by Cognism’s SEO writers, suggest improvements and edit/proofread their work.
- Upload written content to Cognism’s CMS, adhering to best practices at all times.
- Optimise on-page elements such as internal/external linking, blog tags, image alt text, graphics, embedded videos, sticky menus and Schema markup.
- Ensure that all published content is consistent with Cognism’s brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Monitor web traffic KPIs, produce reports based on these and use insights gained to drive improvements.
- Collaborate with co-workers and come up with fresh, creative content ideas, keeping Cognism’s audience in mind.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as an SEO Editor, Content Editor or similar role, including a portfolio of published articles.
- Exceptional working knowledge of on-page and off-page SEO.
- Knowledge of how Google ranks pages and how to maximise the visibility of published content.
- Ability to spot trends and identify traffic-driving opportunities.
- Excellent knowledge of grammar and superlative written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly organised with good time management.
- Self-motivated - you aren’t afraid to ask questions when you need to understand something, but you’ll always try to figure out the answer on your own first.
- An analytical mindset - comfortable in working with numbers and data, setting performance metrics and tracking them.
- Good presentation skills - able to confidently report on the progress of your work to managers and colleagues.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable at handling multiple projects concurrently.
- Collaborative team player.
- An understanding of the B2B sales/marketing industries.
- Experience in using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Asana, Ahrefs and HubSpot.
