Lean into Excellence is a company-wide Continuous Improvement initiative aimed at improving our business performance by applying lean tools and techniques to become more efficient and effective.

As a Continuous Improvement Intern, you will be supporting the deployment of a variety of Lean and Continuous Improvement tools for the UK sites. Integral part of the work will be working with our UK sites where you will be interacting with Engineers and Managers on Continuous Improvement activities. This role will be based in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

You Will Make an Impact By

  • Support Customer Improvement team in the deployment of Lean tools and techniques.
  • After receiving training, provide the required support to lead, facilitate and monitor progress of Kaizen Events and Workshops therefore excellent communication skills are required.
  • Replicate, from other sites to implement best practice lean tools and techniques across UK sites.
  • Co-ordinate new and current continuous Improvement initiatives in order to achieve consistency and standardization across EMEA sites.
  • Assist in weekly and monthly reporting of key metrics associated with Continuous Improvement.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • Enrolled in the last year of studies with a BS, BA, or master’s degree program in (Industrial Engineering, Business Process Improvement)
  • Lean tools and techniques basics
  • Willing to learn
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple activities
  • Ability to execute tactically
  • Organization and administration skills
  • Strong team player
  • Prepared to travel within United Kingdom (limited)
  • Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
