    What you'll be doing:

    We are seeking a driven and innovative undergraduate who is an excellent communicator and motivated to succeed and develop in this role.

    You will be based in our East Sussex Contract Office, 46 High St, Heathfield TN21 8HT, and paid Real Living Wage (currently £10.90 per hour) plus excellent employee benefits.

    The role will commence on the 1st September and will be offered as part of a 12 month placement.

    You will be working for Chartwells, our Education Sector, and will be responsible for providing and supporting with the financial reporting for the Client, as well as the local Schools in our East Sussex contract. 

    Daily responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting the operational delivery of our core function
    • Managing the accounting, audit procedures and KPI’s within the contract
    • Producing contract reports and management data and identify efficiency opportunities
    • Engaging with schools and employees to understand school meal uptake and create, deliver and evaluate initiatives to increase participation
    • Implementing projects and engaging with key stakeholders
    • Supporting the financial reporting required for the contract, our client, and Schools
    • Creating invoices and overseeing debt management

    Whilst most of your learning will be on the job, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills through our online learning tools and workshops to support your development in Business Management.

    Who you are:

    To be considered for this role you will need:

    • To currently be studying towards an undergraduate degree in Business or Finance
    • A collaborative approach with the ability to build relationships
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with your key stakeholders, including Head Teachers and Pupils
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Strong motivation and drive, with great attention to detail
    • Sound financial understanding and business development skills
    • Be engaging and passionate with ability to develop new ideas and see through to completion
    • To be able to work on own initiative and have confidence in Schools
    • To be willing to live/relocate to the East Sussex area
    • Ideally be able to drive and have access to a car
