The nutritionist will be responsible for taking the ingredient nutrition information and nutritionally analysing recipes that will be used across the whole business. It is imperative that we provide accurate nutrition information, and the nutritionist will be responsible for this.
The role
The nutritionist will work closely with our procurement team – Foodbuy. They will advise on new product listings and changes to existing products ensuring that the highest nutritional standards are always met. They will be responsible for attending meetings with culinary leads from all the sectors to discuss if new products are nutritional suitable/compliant for their business. The nutritionist will need an in-depth knowledge of all the different nutritional standards that are in operation across our sectors; e.g. school meal standards, government buying standards, hospital food standards etc. The nutritionist will need to be able to engage with key stakeholders and will translate complex nutrition information into simple messages relating to food and health.
The nutritionist will work closely with our recipe owners to ensure that recipes are written correctly and can be nutritionally analysed through our systems. The nutritionist will support the food offer with knowledge of legislation around food and nutrition including the Food Information Regulations.
As part of the graduate scheme, the nutritionist will be responsible for completing training and development courses which will enhance their CPD and support their registration with the Association for Nutrition.
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly face to face team meetings in Chertsey
- Monthly attendance at Foodbuy meetings in Chertsey
- Responsible for ensuring nutrition information is available for all products/ingredients and recipes
- Managing our nutrition analysis programme – Saffron
- Attending Foodbuy meetings around new product listings or changes to existing products
- Translating complex nutrition information into simple facts and figures
- Work alongside culinary leads and recipe owners to ensure highest nutritional standards are always met
- Provide expert knowledge of legislation around food and nutrition
- Ensure compliance to legislation in all sectors
- Review menus and provide feedback on the nutritional content of the offer
- Working in partnership with other members of the nutrition team to share knowledge

Who you are
- Graduate of an accredited nutrition degree from university
- Confident in communicating to large groups of people and controlling challenging meetings/conversations
- Must be willing to travel to and from Chertsey
- Must hold a full UK driving license and have access to their own vehicle
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
