Procurement Foodbuy Future Leaders Graduate Programme 2021

The Two-Year Programme
If successful you will be enrolled into our two-year Future Leaders Programme starting in October 2021. Over a two year period, you will be involved in supporting a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, developing collaborative working relationships with suppliers, clients, supply chain partners and internal teams while being supported by an inspiring mentor from within the business. Alongside your day-to-day role and responsibilities, you will also be offered to the opportunity to work towards an external qualification in your chosen field (e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or Certified Institute of Management Accounts (CIMA) or equivalent).
We have roles available in the following functions:
- Category Development/Strategic Sourcing– managing day-to-day supplier relationships and/or running competitive market exercises to ensure we get great quality products and services at the best value
- Supply Chain – working in partnership with our distributors and wholesalers to ensure deliveries are on time to all our clients in the most sustainable and efficient way
- Account Management – the conduit between our clients and our procurement team, delivering solutions and overcoming challenges by constantly innovating
- Finance – Delivering expert financial governance, control and advice to underpin all of our procurement activity
Role Responsibilities
You will be supporting one of our many high-performing departments responsible for building category strategies, supplier relationship management, business needs engagement, contracting, financial analysis and invoicing, ensuring safe supply chains and developing sourcing strategies and negotiations using our established Foodbuy procurement framework. Key tasks will include:
- Carrying out all activities in line with Foodbuy procurement framework (don’t worry you will be taken through the framework when you join!)
- Assessing operational / financial risks of current and potential supply opportunities
- Supporting sourcing and category strategies that meet the needs defined by our account management teams and clients.
- Providing and analysing insight through a variety of analytical tools to deliver cost savings opportunities
- Collaborating with supporting functions (finance, legal, supply chain, nutrition etc.) on an ongoing basis to maximise the impact of Foodbuy
- Advising on, and where appropriate, challenging requests/decisions across functions and multiple stakeholders
- Creating and negotiating agreements with suppliers ensuring that legal principles are applied
- Being a great team player and proactively prioritising workload
- Building strong stakeholder relationships to enhance value across our business

Who you are
The Ideal Candidate will be:
- Qualified at Degree level (or higher) or equivalent (obtained within the last 2 years)
- Able to use a wide range of Microsoft Office packages particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Analytical, insight driven and able to identify commercial opportunities
- Accountable for the results and outputs of projects
- Committed to attaining the highest levels of commercial success individually & for the team
- Collaborative in their approach with the ability to build relationships
- Able to display managerial and leadership potential

This role will be based at our Global Head Office in Chertsey, Surrey. with a salary of £25,000.00 per annum, plus other benefits
An Assessment Centre and Interviews will take place in June/July2021
