Graduate GIS Specialist Responsibilities

  • Under guidance, produce maps and plans for clients in support of a wide range of fast paced projects, including land ownership, access, utility routing, and legal plans
  • With support, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency and Utility companies
  • Utilise the latest technology to update online mapping systems and mobile applications
  • Initially shadow and gradually move on to working more independently on projects and requests
  • Develop and maintain own knowledge and skills via company run and wider training
  • Play a key role in the team by supporting, communicating and helping all other team members

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a degree or masters in GIS or a closely related subject such as Geography, Surveying or Land Management with a large GIS component
  • Have a working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software for spatial data capture, management and analysis
  • Have a familiarity with Land Registry, Ordnance Survey and other UK wide datasets / sources
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Be a great team player with a can-do attitude 
  • Have a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations  

Graduate CAD Specialist Responsibilities

  • With support, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources
  • Initially shadow and gradually move on to working more independently on projects and requests
  • Develop and maintain own knowledge and skills via company run and wider training
  • Be commercially aware, maintain good records, time recording and requests to provide regular client updates and ensure accurate billing.
  • Play a key role in the team by supporting, communicating and helping all other team members

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an interest and awareness of CAD
  • Great IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Graduate Land Referencer Responsibilities

  • Play a key and wide-ranging role in exciting, high-profile projects by acting as a consistent point of contact between affected parties, communities, and organisational delivery teams to successfully submit Development Consent Order (DCO) and Compulsory Purchase Order (CPOs) Books of Reference on behalf of our clients.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and GIS Specialists to collect, interpret and review land ownership data to be presented to our clients in a variety of formats
  • Have an eye for detail to ensure all relevant information is identified, extracted, verified, and uploaded to our bespoke internal land referencing database
  • Have strong communication skills and be comfortable visiting sites; meeting with project stakeholders to record and update land ownership data. 
  • Receive full training in our client's specific areas of expertise and ongoing mentoring whilst you develop your Land Referencing knowledge. 

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a degree in an area broadly related to land (e.g. Geography, Geospatial science, Estate or Property Management, Planning, Land or Property Law) 
  • Great IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, be results-driven and a keen problem solver 
  • Have the ability to manage a large amount of both quantitative and qualitative data 
  • Have an awareness of GIS (desirable)  
  • Have a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations 
  • Be a great team player and have a can-do attitude

Graduate Land Surveyor Responsibilities

  • Travel to a variety of sites across the country to undertake surveys, collect data and set out works on behalf of DM and their clients, using Total Station, Laser Scanning, handheld GNSS, and Electromagnetic Location equipment
  • Take a proactive approach to processing survey data in line with departmental best practice
  • Produce maps and plans in support of a wide range of fast paced projects, on time and within budget to maintain company standard
  • Working in collaboration with the team, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency, Local Authorities and Utility companies to best inform our advice and service to clients
  • Be responsible in the maintenance and calibration procedures of the survey equipment and organisational policies and requirements
  • Work under guidance, on projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work
  • Be commercially aware, maintain good records, including meeting notes, expense claims and comprehensive file updates and records of activities to provide regular client updates

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a degree in an area broadly related to land (e.g. Geography, Geospatial science, Estate or Property Management, Planning, Land or Property Law) 
  • Great IT skills with good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word packages
  • Ability to manage a large amount of both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Be Comfortable meeting people on-site – colleagues, clients, landowners and other stakeholders 
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Have a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations 
  • Be a team player and have a can-do attitude
