The role

The Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service is looking for an experienced Minute Taker to join the team to provide a high quality and efficient minute taking and administrative support (organising meetings, preparing paperwork for meetings and circulating relevant papers for meetings) for Child Protection Conferences.

About you

  • The service is responsible for safeguarding children, young people and their families and recommending cohesive plans to support them so the ability to interpret complex processes and deal with sensitive information is essential.
  • The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet). Previous experience of using a client database would be desirable but training will be given.
  • An understanding of the requirement for confidentiality is essential as are good customer care skills and a confident telephone manner.
  • Previous experience of Minute Taking in high level conferences/meetings is essential. Good organisational skills, excellent administrative skills flexibility and the ability to prioritise and work independently and as part of a team are also required for the role.The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate high level communication skills (both written and verbal) in order to effectively interact with colleagues, professionals, families and external agencies.
  • The role will be busy and varied; therefore a flexible and proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines is essential.
  • You must be willing to undertake relevant training to support you within the role and willing to work flexibly to meet the ever changing needs of the service.
