The Legal and Compliance team provide regulatory and compliance advice to the business on matters relating to Airfield Operations, Aviation Security Requirements, Data Protection and Legal and Contract matters.

The team works as four unique sub-teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will assist the Senior Legal Counsel with:
    • in-house legal tasks across all areas of the airport’s business
    • the creation and implementation of a new airport-wide policy
    • the collection and collation of legal information from across the airport’s departments.
  • You will assist the Data Protection Officer with consideration of personal data issues and the creation of campus wide information relating to personal data.
  • You will support other members of the Legal and Compliance team with tasks related to the following areas:
    • Aerodrome Safeguarding – this includes the processing of planning applications from local authorities and processing crane permits etc.
    • Aerodrome Design – this involves learning and advising on the Aerodrome manual
    • Wildlife Hazard Management – strategic role of Wildlife Control Coordinator.
    • Aeronautical Information Publications – updating our aerodrome requirements
    • Compliance Monitoring – overseeing oversight of our business partners
    • Documentation Review – including campus wide CEN’s and CED’s
    • Representation at meetings – which may be internal or external.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a dynamic, organised and responsible individual with strong attention to detail.

  • The ideal intern will be a current student who has an interest in legal, regulatory and compliance matters who is looking to learn about the Airport business and get some valuable experience over the summer months.
  • You enjoy meeting new people.
  • You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, using your own initiative.
  • You will be proficient in IT and have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
