Everest is a leading global Reinsurance and Insurance organisation with extensive product and distribution capabilities, a strong balance sheet and an innovative culture. The successful candidate will work as part of the Everest International Internal Audit, based in the Company’s London Office.

This opportunity will lead to exposure to various aspects of finance and insurance operations in a growing global organization. This is also a rare opportunity to get exposure to the London Market/Lloyds.

A summer internship offered for a 2-to-3-month period, within the International Internal Audit team.

Start date between May and August 2024, and negotiable based on candidate availability.

About the role

Today’s organisations face many strategic, financial and operational risks that can stop them from achieving their goals. We take a deep, objective look at various operational and finance functions to evaluate the effectiveness of controls to manage potential risks.

A career in internal audit gives you front-row seats to how organisations operate. Internal Auditors regularly interact with various departments and stakeholders throughout the year. Each audit cycle regularly entails gathering an understanding of the business process, interviewing process owners, evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls. Observations and opportunities for improvement are presented to key stakeholders verbally and in the form of written reports.

A successful applicant will therefore get the opportunity to

  • Learn about the insurance industry and how insurance works
  • Gain exposure to various auditing techniques and test strategies
  • Gain exposure to different departments within an insurance organisation
  • Work with colleagues from different geographical locations, time zones and cultures
  • Practice presentation skills and gain exposure to formal report writing

An enthusiastic self-starter who is quick to learn and always up for a challenge. Someone currently in their second or third year of an Accounting or Finance degree. A successful applicant will be fully supported during the internship with a dedicated line manager and core team to learn from and be supported by. Work assignments will entail a wide variety of projects, which requires an applicant to be adaptable and highly organised. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

If that sounds like you, we know you will enjoy being part of our team.
