The FD Placement Program is a unique learning opportunity for university students to gain professional experience and industry exposure that will prove invaluable through education and beyond. Being entrusted with high levels of responsibility from day one, you’ll gain a sought-after skill set and benefit from the support of our HQ team over your year-long placement in one of the exciting positions we offer.

Training

As a placement, you will have access to unparalleled training opportunities through structured learning and hands-on experience. You will take part in our world-renowned Capital Markets Training Program (CMTP) and boost your long-term career prospects from day one!

Software Engineering

Ideally, we are seeking students from computing and technical degree disciplines to work as part of our development team for 1 year. Candidates should have a strong interest in software development and be highly motivated self-starters with a passion for learning. Students are guaranteed a high-quality software development experience and will be contributing to live projects from the beginning, whether they be internally focused or client-facing.

The ideal applicant will have

  • An inquisitive mindset, an aptitude for problem solving and technical skills to combine them
  • Be on track for a minimum 2.1 in a degree in Computing, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similarly quantitative discipline
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings and articulate their business benefits
  • Experience with Java, C/C++ and/or UNIX is beneficial

All applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills and an impressive academic record with an emphasis on strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
