The successful candidates will be working as part of the engineering team that is responsible for sales order engineering, new product development and end user support

Responsibilities

Responsibilities are varied and may include:

  • Create new 3D component models, 2D detail design engineering drawings to support order engineering and product development projects.
  • Support and manage product engineering changes working with our manufacturing team, developing change notes and documentation for the change.
  • Undertake feasibility studies and design verification exercises to extend existing product ranges or performance criteria.
  • Initiate testing programmes and experiments to assist in the design verification process. This may be practical or theoretical.
  • Support all other departments where necessary and ensure inter departmental cooperation is maintained.
  • Complete risk assessments and compile safe systems of work in support of all practical work within the workshop.
  • To carry out investigations into product failures and application issues under the company’s returned goods system.

Preferred Experience 

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and motivated undergraduates who are en-route to obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline and have the following skills:

  • a practical adeptness and logical approach to problem solving
  • a ‘can do’ attitude
  • excellent analytical skills
  • the ability to work own initiative to tight deadlines
  • good English verbal and written communication skills
  • high attention to detail
  • flexible and adaptable
  • a full clean UK driving licence (not essential)

Applicants will ideally be on track to achieving a 2:1 degree.

Throughout your internship you will be mentored to help improve your skill set and receive training on any additional skills that may be required to accomplish your projects.
