The successful candidates for 13 months will be working as part of the engineering team that is responsible for sales order engineering, new product development and end user support.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities are varied and may include:

  • Create new 3D component models, 2D detail design engineering drawings to support order engineering and product development projects
  • Support and manage product engineering changes working with our manufacturing team, developing change notes and documentation for the change
  • Support all other departments where necessary and ensure inter departmental cooperation is maintained
  • To carry out investigations into product failures and application issues under the company’s returned goods system
  • Develop jigs, tools in 3D design software and 3D print the part
  • Use the local laser etchers for creating workflow more efficient
  • Improve production process with using lean strategies

Requirements

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and motivated undergraduates who are en-route to obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline and have the following skills:

  • a practical adeptness and logical approach to problem solving
  • a ‘can do’ attitude
  • excellent analytical skills
  • the ability to work own initiative to tight deadlines
  • good English verbal and written communication skills
  • high attention to detail
  • flexible and adaptable
  • Knowledge of Lean advantageous
  • a full clean UK driving licence (not essential)

Applicants will ideally be on track to achieving a 2:1 degree.

Throughout your internship you will be mentored to help improve your skill set and receive training on any additional skills that may be required to accomplish your projects.
